English Department Lecture Explores ‘Humanities Without Apology’
The talk is titled “The Humanities Without Apology” and is part of the Literature, Criticism, and Textual Studies speaker series sponsored by the Hodges Better English Fund and the Department of English. The event is free and open to the public.
Bérubé is a professor of English literature and director of the Institute of the Arts and Humanities at Pennsylvania State University. He is the author of eight books, including The Left at War, and What’s Liberal about the Liberal Arts?
Bérubé is the 2012 president of the MLA, a professional organization for researchers of languages and literatures with nearly 30,000 members in 100 countries around the world. The MLA hosts an annual convention with seminars and meetings on a wide variety of subjects within the arts and humanities.
