Berryman Named Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources
Berryman will advise campus leaders on employee development and performance, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and other HR areas. He will work collaboratively with the HR team to support the needs of faculty and staff, as well as managing relations with academic and employee organizations.
“As a certified senior professional in human resources, Dan is not only knowledgeable, but team-oriented and collaborative. I know he will work well with administrators, faculty, and staff. He is excited about contributing to the goal of reaching the Top 25,” said Linda Hendricks, vice chancellor for human resources.
Berryman comes to UT from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he was assistant vice president of human resources. He previously worked at the University of California-Los Alamos National Lab and in private industry.
He has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara; a master’s degree in human resource management from Pepperdine University; and will complete his doctorate in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University in December.
“Dan Berryman brings very strong collaborative, analytical, leadership, and strategic planning skills to this new HR position,” said Mike Wirth, dean of the College of Communications and Information, who chaired the search. “We are very fortunate to have attracted an individual with the depth and breadth of HR experience that Dan possesses.”
