Make plans to attend the University of Tennessee Police Department’s public forum for reaccreditation beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, in the Shiloh Room of the Carolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center.

Representatives from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) will be on campus for the department’s first review since being accredited in 2009. All UT students, faculty, staff, and Knoxville community members are invited to attend and offer comments.

The CALEA team will look at UTPD’s policies, procedures, management, operations, and support services. UTPD is one of only two CALEA-accredited university departments in Tennessee and one of only fifty-three CALEA-accredited university departments in the country.

You can also provide feedback via telephone by calling 865-974-0136 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 3. The CALEA team will take comments on a non-recorded line.
