Three candidates for UT Knoxville vice chancellor for development and alumni affairs will interview this week. Each of them will have one interview session open to the campus community.
The candidates in this internal search are Dorothy Bryson, the senior director for the College of Engineering; Charles Houston, director of alumni programs and diversity initiatives; and Scott Rabenold, interim vice president for development and alumni affairs and president of the UT Foundation.
The open interview sessions are:
- Dorothy Bryson – Tuesday, November 1, from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. in Arena C & D
- Charles Houston – Wednesday, November 2, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Arena C & D
- Scott Rabenold – Thursday, November 3, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the fourth floor conference room of Andy Holt Tower
Bryson has worked at UT Knoxville since 1986. Before taking her current job in 2008, she was associate vice chancellor for development, assistant vice president for development, director of development for two colleges, assistant director of financial aid, and a financial aid counselor. Before coming to UT, she worked in financial aid and admissions at Carson-Newman College. Bryson has a master’s degree from UT in higher education administration and a bachelor’s degree in English and French from Carson-Newman College.
Houston has worked at UT Knoxville since 2007. Houston served as co-chair of the fiftieth anniversary of African American achievement. Prior to coming to UT, he worked as coordinator of multicultural recruitment and retention at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and at a variety of companies in Kentucky, Ohio, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi. Houston has a master’s degree in organizational communications from Murray State University. His bachelor’s degree is also from Murray State.
Rabenold has worked at UT since 2002. Prior to his current role, he was associate vice chancellor for development at UT Knoxville and campaign director for the UT system, and assistant athletic director and director of capital support. Before coming to UT, he worked in fundraising at the University of Memphis and at Wake Forest University. Rabenold has an MBA from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from the University of Iowa.
