The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is now home to a place for discussion of pressing topics in environmental and energy science and policy. This fall will see the launch of an Interdisciplinary Discussion Forum for Energy and the Environment.
The first session will be held 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 25th at the Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center’s Toyota Auditorium for Public Policy. Paul Ehrlich—eminent ecologist, author of best-selling popular science texts about the environment, and winner of multiple awards for environmental science and conservation—will present the lecture “The Population-Environment Crisis and the Millennium Assessment of Human Behavior.”
The forum will meet once every two to three weeks on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. in the Toyota Auditorium. Click here to view the fall’s schedule.
The forum’s goal is to bring together faculty and students from across departments to engage in interdisciplinary debate and discussion on current topics in environmental and energy science and policy.
The effort is supported and hosted by the Baker Center and is a collaborative effort of the colleges of Business Administration, Arts and Sciences, Law, and Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
