Join alumni and friends for an enjoyable evening and an opportunity to meet Interim Knoxville Mayor Daniel Brown.

A reception will be held at 5:00 p.m. and a program at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Visitor’s Center, 2712 Neyland Drive. Parking is available on-site. Cost is $10 for heavy hors d’oeuvres and cash bar.

In January 2011, Daniel Brown was selected as interim mayor for Knoxville and made history as the city’s first African-American mayor. Brown, a native Knoxvillian and graduate of Austin High School and Tennessee State University, is retired from the U. S. Postal Service. He is a U. S. Army Vietnam War veteran.
