The 33rd annual Autumn in Knoxville fall festival is right around the corner. I invite each of you to join your fellow co-workers for a day of fun and camaraderie on Friday, Oct. 8, from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the TRECS complex on the Knoxville campus.

Hosted by Human Resources, this annual employee appreciation event always draws several thousand UT staff and faculty from all over the Knoxville area. An opportunity for our hard-working employees to kick back and enjoy themselves, this year’s fall festival will feature the perennial favorites: bingo, music, give-aways from local vendors, door prizes and a catered lunch. The Division of Finance and Administration is providing lunch, as they have done each year for many years. Many area organizations have donated prizes and give-aways and are covering the costs of entertainment and more.

Autumn in Knoxville Fall FestivalWhile Autumn in Knoxville serves up a lot of fun each year, the event is also a reminder of the wonderful Volunteers who volunteer to bring us all together. Staff, faculty and administrators from across the Knoxville area will be on hand giving out prizes, calling bingo and keeping the good times rolling.

The Autumn in Knoxville fall festival is one way the university can express its appreciation for the hard work our employees put forth throughout the year. Our employees are our greatest asset, and next Friday will be an opportunity to celebrate the more than 8,000 employees who keep us going.

I look forward to seeing you on Oct. 8.
