sophoMOREThe Student Success Center’s “sophoMORE: the 2nd-Year Experience” is a student-success initiative that focuses on engaging second-year students in conversations concerning their degree progress as well as academic and co-curricular activities that enrich and enhance their undergraduate experience. Throughout the academic year, special programs, academic success workshops and targeted communications bring together faculty, staff and sophomore students to discuss their experiences and plan for their success at UT Knoxville.

This semester, there will be two sophoMORE seminars offered especially for second-year students. The first is on Wednesday, Sept. 29. “The Best is Yet to Come!” will feature UT staff sharing information about the Student Success Center’s academic coaching, international education and study abroad opportunities, and Career Services programs that connect majors to careers as well as internship and part time job opportunities. The second seminar, “Service Learning & Undergraduate Research,” will take place on Monday, Oct. 18. This seminar will combine information on how academic interests connect to opportunities outside the typical classroom. Faculty and students engaged in research and service learning will be featured. Both seminars will take place at 7 p.m. in the Lindsey Young Auditorium of John C. Hodges Library.
