WUOT-FM: Gregory Button on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico

The explosion killed several workers and led to a continuing spill of millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico. WUOT 91.9 FM’s Chrissy Keuper spoke with UT Knoxville professor Gregory Button, who studies environmental disasters and recovery, including the Exxon Valdez oil spill and Hurricane Katrina. Button says the press and some environmentalists are somewhat mistaken in comparing the Gulf spill to the 1989 Exxon Valdez spill, but there are definitely some similarities.
