Daniel Feller is an American historian with specialties in the Jacksonian and antebellum eras of U.S. history and general U.S. political history. Feller’s books include The Jacksonian Promise: America 1815-1840, The Public Lands in Jacksonian Politics, and a new edition of Harriet Martineau’s 1838 American tour narrative Retrospect of Western Travel.

Feller was the lead scholar for the PBS special “Andrew Jackson: Good, Evil and the Presidency” and has appeared on the PBS television program “History Detectives.” A team headed by Feller is publishing the presidential volumes in The Papers of Andrew Jackson series.
