In early 2009 the school became a member of the “Partner Schools for the Future Network (PASCH),” a project that was launched in 2008 by Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Federal Foreign Minister of Germany. The goal of PASCH is to establish a worldwide network of at least 1,000 partner schools and in so doing encourage young people to take an interest in and have an enthusiasm for modern Germany and its society.
On May 12, 2009, Consul General Dr. Lutz H. Görgens from the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Atlanta came to Knoxville in order to officially recognize the German Saturday School of Knoxville as a member of the international PASCH-Network. During a reception held at Sacred Heart Cathedral School, Dr. Görgens presented the German Saturday School of Knoxville with the official PASCH plaque.
