KNOXVILLE – When the class of ’84 graduated, the Apple Macintosh computer had just been introduced, and the space shuttle Discovery flew its inaugural mission. Now as Apples and iPods rule the marketplace and Discovery is about to launch for the 37th time, the class of ’84 is invited back for their 25-year class reunion.

The 25th anniversary celebration is sponsored by the UT Knoxville Alumni Association and will be held Sept. 4-5 on the Knoxville campus. The classes of 1982 and 1983 also are invited to attend.

“The 25-year class reunion is a great way to reconnect with college friends, but also to come back to Knoxville and see the campus today,” said Steve Catlett, associate vice chancellor for alumni affairs. “We also wanted to include alumni from other classes in the celebration to bring even more friendships together again. There are great events for the whole family, including UT’s home opener football game.”

The celebration includes:

– A networking event for professionals
– Lunch with keynote address by Lady Vols basketball head coach, Pat Summitt
– “Classes Without Quizzes,” a program allowing alumni to attend class with a current student and hear from UT’s leading faculty members
– A walking tour of campus
– A family dinner cruise
– A game day tailgate picnic

Participants also can purchase tickets to Saturday’s home opener football game against Western Kentucky University.

A weekend package is $63 for adults and $32 for children. Football tickets may be purchased for $40 each, and events also can be registered for individually. For additional information, individual event pricing or to register online, visit http://alumni.utk.edu/reunions. Online registration is available until Sept. 1.
