Craig to Deliver Classics Lecture at UVA

Christopher Craig, Lindsay Young Professor of Classics and Director of College Scholars, has been invited to deliver the 2009 Stocker Lecture in Classics at the University of Virginia.

He will speak in Charlottesville today on “The Theory and Practice of Outrage in Cicero’s Defense Speeches.”

The Stocker Lecture is named for Professor Arthur Stocker, a Virginia classicist of the last century who advanced the tradition of classical studies established by the school’s founder, Thomas Jefferson.
