Geography associate professor Henri Grissino-Mayer, some of his students, and the department’s Tree-Ring Science Laboratory will be featured on an episode of the Discovery Channel’s Extreme Forensics series, 10 p.m. ET Monday, Dec. 8.
The episode, titled "Splintered Tale," tells the story of a homicide in Collin County, Texas, and how Grissino-Mayer and his students used forensic techniques to analyze wood fragments collected as evidence. Their analysis led to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the murder.
