Marilyn KalletFour local writers will close out the Writers in the Library season with a special reading event at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, in the Hodges Library auditorium.

Marilyn Kallet, Michael Knight, Arthur Smith and Kali Meister will share their works from the Knoxville Writers’ Guild 2008 anthology, "Outscape: Writings on Fences and Frontiers."

Michael KnightKallet, Knight and Smith are faculty members in the UT Creative Writing program, and Meister is the UT Libraries’ Writer in Residence.

Kallet has written 14 books. Her new book, "Packing Light: New and Selected Poems," will be published in January. She directed the Creative Writing Program at UT for 17 years and now holds a Lindsay Young Professorship.

Arthur SmithKnight, director of the Creative Writing Program, recently authored a novella, "The Holiday Season." He has won several awards for his writing.

Smith’s work has won several awards, including a National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellowship.

Kali MeisterMeister has worked in theatre, performance art and film. Her 10-minute drama scene, "Absurd Noir," appears in "Outscape."
