KNOXVILLE — Building a successful and prosperous business is the subject of a free one-day seminar organized by the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services (CIS) Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).
The “Cornerstone to Success” seminar, to be held Aug. 20 at the Williamson County Parks & Recreation complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road in Franklin, will feature speakers who will offer advice to small business owners on working capital, long-term benefits and succession planning, having a strong relationship with an attorney experienced in government contracting policy and having a qualified accountant qualified in government and defense contracting guidelines. PTAC’s overall mission is to aid Tennessee businesses in winning and complying with government contracts.
“This seminar will focus on these four areas because they are typically most overlooked when it comes to creating, sustaining and growing a successful business,” said David Hall, CIS executive director. “We want healthy, successful businesses here in Tennessee and the purpose of this seminar is to begin building and growing those successful business through government contracting opportunities.”
Speakers will include Amy Bunton, senior vice president of Southeast Community Capital; Stuart Lang, a financial adviser with AIG Retirement; Darwin A. (Skip) Hindman III, an attorney with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC; and Jimmy Rodefer, chief executive officer with Rodefer Moss & Co. certified public accountants, business advisers and technology consultants.
