College of Engineering Hosts Minority Freshman ProgramThe College of Engineering was selected to host the 2008 Tennessee Louise Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Summer Bridge Program for incoming freshmen, July 20 – August 8.

The program helps incoming freshmen majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics adapt to the academic, social and emotional pressures experienced in the transition from high school to college.

The three-week summer residential experience focuses on providing incoming college freshmen an opportunity to achieve a smooth transition from high school to college life. Academic and life-skills activities are conducted Monday through Friday in a classroom and/or laboratory setting.
