KNOXVILLE — Walter M. Kimbrough, one of the youngest college presidents in the nation, will talk about leadership and community involvement at UT on March 31.
“An Evening with Dr. Walter Kimbrough,” hosted by the Black Cultural Programming Committee, will begin at 7 p.m. in the University Center auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. A reception will follow in the UC. The event is free and open to the public.
Kimbrough, 39, was named the 12th president of Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Ark., in 2004. He is the author of “Black Greek 101: The Culture, Customs and Challenges of Black Fraternities and Sororities,” an Essence magazine top 10 bestseller.
Kimbrough was selected as a 2001 Nissan-ETS Historically Black Colleges and Universities Fellow and a 2002 participant in the Millennium Leadership Initiative sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
