KNOXVILLE — More choices and convenience are coming to Rocky Top Café in the University Center.

The newly renovated food court opens Monday, March 10. The café’s hours have been expanded; it will be open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Several new eateries have been added, further increasing the dining options on campus. Each food counter will have its own cashier to speed service and improve convenience.

The new franchises are Sbarro, Jump Asian Express and Mayfield Creamier ice cream parlor. Quizno’s remains, and Burger King has added onion rings, apple pie, Hershey pie and bottled water to its menu. Jump Asian Express will not be open Monday but will open soon.

Rocky Top Café also will offer a Fresh-on-the-Go convenience store with sushi, sandwiches, salads, fruit bowls, fruit parfaits, packages of hummus and pita and other items such as candy, gum and bottled drinks.

On Tuesday, March 11, Mayfield Day will be celebrated with a visit by Maggie the cow and Moosetracks the moose.

Students, faculty and staff will be able to register for Relay for Life on Wednesday, March 12.

The entire seating area in Rocky Top Café has been renovated from floor to ceiling.

UT Dining made changes to the food offered in Rocky Top Café based on feedback from its student advisory committee and online surveys.

New surveys can be filled out online now until March 14 on the UT Dining Web site at http://www.utdining.com/. The Web site features a new design.
