KNOXVILLE — Prominent architect Trey Trahan will lecture at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3, in the McCarty Auditorium, Room 109, of the Art + Architecture Building at the University of Tennessee.
Free and open to the public, this lecture is part of the Robert B. Church III Memorial Lecture Series organized each semester by the College of Architecture and Design. During its 30-year history, the series has brought some of the most innovative and important thinkers in the world of design to the UT campus.
Trahan will discuss the recent work of his firm, Trahan Architects, in Baton Rouge, La. His firm’s work has been recognized nationally and internationally for its innovative design. Trahan also will discuss emerging concepts and ideas within Trahan Architects and the nature of the architect’s relationship with the client.
Trahan is president and principal-in-charge of Trahan Architects and was elected to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows in 2006. His work, though reflective of Louisiana’s architectural roots, is described as contemporary.
His most prominent work in Louisiana includes St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Church Complex, which are among the most recognized and honored sacred architecture projects in the world. His firm currently is designing the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and recently was commissioned to design a stadium addition and new arena for the University of Cincinnati.
Continuing architectural education credit can be earned at Monday’s lecture.
