The executive and compensation committee of the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will meet in Nashville on Thursday, Jan. 31.

The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST at the offices of Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry, 1600 Division St., Suite 700.

The principal purpose of the meeting will be to plan for the winter meeting of the Board of Trustees scheduled for March 11-12 in Chattanooga.

The committee also will consider UT President John Petersen’s proposal for a limited duration appointment of Hershel P. Wall as the UT Health Science Center’s chancellor and vice president for health affairs. Wall has served as interim chancellor since last April. Pending board approval, Wall is expected to serve as chancellor until the search for a new chancellor is successfully completed.
