The National Wildlife Federation has recognized the UT’s Make Orange Green initiative as an example of "best practices" for college campuses nationwide.
UT is now one of the largest purchasers of Green Power in the state. Students are active in using energy-efficient light bulbs. The Environmental Stewardship Fund – financed by student fees and donations from faculty, staff and alumni – was also cited.
