KNOXVILLE – Visiting professor and attorney James M. Van Nostrand will lecture on “The Greening of America’s Energy Policy” from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday in Room 132 of the University of Tennessee College of Law.
Free and open to the public, this lecture is part of the 2007 fall lecture series of the James L. Clayton Center for Entrepreneurial Law.
“The Clayton Center for Entrepreneurial Law is fortunate to have James Van Nostrand with us for the fall semester of 2007,” said George Kuney, director of the Clayton Center. “His lengthy experience in the fields of energy law and regulated industries make him a natural to describe how the green power movement is shaping utility law and regulation on the local, state, national and international basis. We are lucky to have him teaching with us and expect that his public presentation on Sept. 26 at the College of Law will be both exciting and informative.”
Van Nostrand is a partner with Perkins Coie in Portland, Ore. He practices in the areas of electricity and gas regulation, utility mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications and administrative law.
Van Nostrand’s presentation will focus on America’s energy policy’s shift toward the development and use of cleaner energy sources.
