KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee Cultural Attractions Committee will host legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 16, at the Tennessee Theatre.
Perlman has won 15 Grammy Awards, four Emmys and was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2000 by President Bill Clinton. He has released 12 albums and appeared on such shows as “Sesame Street” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Perlman also collaborated on the score of Steven Speilberg’s Academy Award winning film Schindler’s List.
In 2002, Perlman released the album “Rhapsody” featuring such artists as Yo-Yo Ma, the Juilliard String Quartet and the Boston Pops Orchestra. Selections on the album range from Perlman’s popular classical pieces to his styling with film composer John Williams.

The Cultural Attractions Committee aims to expose the UT and Knoxville communities to new ideas and experiences by providing culturally diverse programs in a variety of music and dance genres.
