KNOXVILLE — The sixth annual Clifton M. Jones Student Leadership Conference will be held at the University of Tennessee on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Carolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center. The conference is free and open to all UT students.

The theme for this year’s conference is “So You Think You Can Lead,” and is sponsored by the Center for Leadership Development. Throughout the day students will be able to attend sessions. Topics will range from motivation and conflict resolution to dealing with various personalities within a group.

“This is a great opportunity for students to learn about leadership. Last year, many students said they were coming away from the conference energized and ready to go back to their organizations with fresh, new ideas and perspectives. The conference is an excellent way for student leaders to start their semester,” said Jim Harrison, interim assistant director of Orientation and Leadership Development.

The conference will begin with keynote speaker, Dr. Will Keim, a motivational speaker and author of several books. Keim will speak on identifying the true leader within and motivating yourself to succeed.

Students also will attend breakout programs on stereotypes, etiquette in the U.S. and abroad, Facebook and team-building sessions led by UT employees and community members.
