KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee’s Howard Baker Center and WNOX are partnering to bring the nationally syndicated radio show Beyond the Beltway to Knoxville at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22.

The show, which airs every Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on FM 100, will originate from the UT Conference Center, 600 Henley St.

The public is invited to be a part of the studio audience to watch the show. There is no admission and parking is free at the Locust Street garage.

This week’s topic will be forecasting the November election and discussing whether or not Democrats can gain control of the U.S. House and/or the Senate.

Host Bruce DuMont will join WNOX’s own Hallerin Hilton Hill, former Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Randy Button and Dr. Michael Fitzgerald, UT political science professor and senior teaching fellow for the Howard Baker Center for Public Policy.

Beyond the Beltway is heard on more than 60 stations across the nation and is produced at the Radio Hall of Fame studios in the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago. Its format “takes America’s political pulse and provides a fresh and balanced perspective of national politics,” according to the show’s Web site.

During the Knoxville show, audience members may ask questions of the panel. Everybody is encouraged to arrive early and attend the broadcast of WNOX’s locally produced State
Your Case, which begins at 4 p.m.
