KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee-s Student Health Center will hold a wellness fair on Feb. 8 to promote a healthier student lifestyle.

-Health Fair for a Healthier 2006,- will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University Center ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

More than 20 booths will provide information on health topics including, nutrition, fitness levels, blood donation, pedometer use and mental health. Local organizations such as Tennessee on the Move, the Knox County Health Department, Planned Parenthood and the American Red Cross are participating.

-We need to educate the younger public now to help raise future generations of people who will live longer and healthier lives,- said Rosa Thomas, wellness coordinator for UT Student Health Service.

The event is sponsored by the Student Health Center and the UT NAACP chapter.
