KNOXVILLE – Holding an event with an international or intercultural flair?

If so, the Center for International Education (CIE) would like to include it on I-EVENTS, an email distribution list dedicated to publicizing international and intercultural social and academic events on and around the University of Tennessee campus.

Dr. James Gehlhar, CIE director, said I-EVENTS is a good way for UT faculty, staff, students and others to publicize their events, courses and programs.

Such events play a key role in UT’s groundbreaking initiative, the Quality Enhancement Plan. The goal of the QEP is to increase international and intercultural components in all aspects of the university, and to ensure all UT undergraduates gain the knowledge, perspectives and skills needed to succeed in today’s complex, pluralistic world.

Gehlhar said list subscribers typically get at least one I-EVENTS message per weekday. Because I-EVENTS messages are archived, subscribers have access to previous postings.

I-EVENTS currently has about 1,884 subscribers, Gehlhar said.

I-EVENTS doesn’t accept file attachments, and users are urged to refer readers to Web addresses where additional information is available.

To submit items for I-EVENTS, send an email worded and formatted exactly as it should appear to I-EVENTS@listserv.utk.edu

To subscribe to I-EVENTS, log on to listserv@listserv.utk.edu or complete the form on the International House Web site, http://www.UTIhouse.org.
