KNOXVILLE — Football fans coming to campus for Saturday’s game between the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the University of Memphis Tigers will notice the campus decked out for Homecoming. Banners are hung on Neyland Stadium and storefront windows along Cumberland Avenue are painted with colorful images of Smoky, the Vol mascot.

Kickoff for the game is 2 p.m. Stadium gates will open at noon.

“Homecoming is always an exciting time of year, and we’re glad to welcome fans, alumni and visitors to campus to share in the spirit,” said Senior Associate Vice Chancellor Jeff Maples.

Events have been happening all week, as student groups compete for All Campus Events trophies. The Homecoming parade is set for 4 p.m. today along Volunteer Blvd.

Normal security measures will be in place for the game Saturday, Maples said.

Items prohibited inside Neyland Stadium include:

– alcoholic beverages, cans, bottles or coolers;
– radios without headphones;
– open umbrellas;

Fans are allowed to bring the following items inside the stadium:
