UT Students Raise Money To Fight Juvenile Diabetes

Members of the University of Tennessee Student Alumni Association will sell bracelets at the Humanities Plaza 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 3 through Nov. 5 to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The bracelets, which are orange and bear the logo, “I will give my all for Tennessee today,” also can be purchased at Tyson Alumni House.

UT student and SAA member Andrew Shafer, who is diabetic, came up with the idea.

“I’m very passionate about the University of Tennessee and about raising money for diabetes research,” said Shafer. “I wanted my idea to incorporate both.”

The cost is $3 for one bracelet or $5 for two.

“November is National Diabetes Awareness month,” Shafer said. “We decided to give the money to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help promote diabetes awareness.”
