The University of Tennessee is hosting a Law School Admissions Recruitment Fair and two workshops October 1 for East Tennessee residents interested in applying to law school.

The workshops will be held from 1-3 p.m. in Room 132, UT College of Law, 1505 West Cumberland Ave., directly across the street from the University Center.

“Anyone who is considering law as a career and is specifically interested in the law school admissions process should attend this event,” Dr. Karen Britton, director of admissions, financial aid and career services for UT-s College of Law, said.

A 1-2 p.m. a workshop will detail how to prepare for law school as an undergraduate, the admissions process, the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), and financing a legal education.

From 2-3 p.m. a panel of current UT law students will discuss life as a law student and give advice on the admissions process.

Admissions officials will be available from 3-6 p.m. representing several other universities and law colleges, including the universities of Alabama, Cumberland, Emory, Georgia, Kentucky, Mercer, Memphis, Mississippi, Richmond, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Washington and Lee.

The workshop is free and requires no pre-registration. Admissions representatives will be in the student commons area.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to both demystify the process of applying to law school and to meet face to face with admissions decision makers from several law schools, as well as UT,” Britton said.
