KNOXVILLE — Nineteen new members have joined the University of Tennessee Chancellor’s Associates, Chancellor Loren Crabtree announced Monday.
The Chancellor’s Associates, established in 1972, is a group of 58 business, professional and community leaders from the greater Knoxville area who are interested in UT and its development.
“We look forward to the continued goodwill and assistance of these community leaders,” Crabtree said. “The associates’ advice is greatly appreciated, and their involvement in our planning is an important element of our continued growth.”

The Chancellor’s Associates meet about seven times each academic year with Crabtree and other key campus administrators to learn about the diverse program offerings at UT.
Members are a liaison between the university and its external constituents, and help articulate the mission, vision, goals and plans of the Knoxville campus, Crabtree said.
The associates also will host the annual Volunteer of the Year Dinner at 6:30 p.m., October 14, at the Knoxville Marriott.
