KNOXVILLE — Two University of Tennessee employees have taken new positions in the university’s office of undergraduate admissions.

UT Dean of Enrollment Services Richard Bayer announced recently that Nancy McGlasson, operations director in the undergraduate admissions office, has been named assistant dean and director of undergraduate admissions.

Dr. Tom Broadhead, director of the UT Honors Program, will join the undergraduate admissions staff as director of undergraduate academic advancement. He will assist McGlasson and strengthen the office’s efforts in recruiting high-ability students.

“McGlasson’s academic background in English has proven to be a real value, because it’s important to communicate effectively with prospective students,” Bayer said. “I believe her management skills will be a valuable asset as director of undergraduate admissions.”

Broadhead will work with McGlasson to build a cadre of faculty to recruit and retain outstanding students at UT. He also will work with Provost Loren Crabtree’s office to create a center for promoting scholarships and fellowships at the university.

“One of our most important tasks at the university is to attract and retain the best students in Tennessee and the nation, and these two new appointments will help us do that,” Crabtree said.
