KNOXVILLE — Ten University of Tennessee students have been named top graduates for the 2001 summer semester.
The students and their hometowns, majors and colleges are:
— Angela Nicole Hartsfield of Knoxville, a forestry major in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources;
— Andrea Michelle Johnson, Farragut, medical technology, College of Arts and Sciences;
— Maria Elizabeth Anne Armento, Oak Ridge, psychology, Arts and Sciences;
— Rebekah Elizabeth Vile, Murfreesboro, English literature, Arts and Sciences;
— Sara Evelyn Sparkes, Morristown, finance, College of Business Administration;
— Jamie Elaine Hutton, Nashville, broadcasting, College of Communications;
— Christopher Michael Adams, Knoxville, sport management, College of Education;
— Anusha Elias, Dhaka, Bangladesh, electrical engineering, College of Engineering;
— Janet Denise Mathews, Lenoir City, early childhood education, College of Human Ecology;
— Chara Danee Branam, Knoxville, nursing, College of Nursing.
Top graduates have the highest undergraduate grade point averages in their colleges. The minimum GPA requirement for the honor is a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
The students were recognized Aug. 10 at summer commencement in Thompson-Boling Arena.
