KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Eleven area residents have won top graduate honors for spring semester at the University of Tennessee.

Top graduate honors go to graduating seniors who have the highest grade point averages in their colleges. Thirty-two students who completed their undergraduate degrees spring semester were so honored.

Honorees from Knoxville: Kara Allison, a retail and consumer science major and the daughter of J. Hubert and Carol K. Thompson, Clinton.

Ashley Elizabeth Beals, an architecture major and the daughter of Doug and Karen Beals of Knoxville.

Kimberly Ann Midkiff, a theatre major and the daughter of Mary Lou Midkiff, Knoxville, and Doug Midkiff, Fairport, N.Y.

Obaidur Rahman, a biochemistry major and the son of Mohammad Ziaur and Riffat Rahman, Knoxville.

Jared Rich, a business management major from Knoxville and the son of Gordon and Jolynne Rich, Chattanooga.

Melanie Unruh, a nursing major and the daughter of Don and Arrietta Unruh, Knoxville.

Charlotte Elizabeth Walker, a mechanical engineering major and the daughter of David and Donna Walker, Knoxville.

Honoree from Alcoa: Kevin Heinrich, a computer science and honors mathematics major and son of Juergen and Leandra Heinrich, Alcoa.

Honoree from Dandridge: Melody S. Hickman-Horvath, a social work major and the daughter of Linda and Hal Hickman, New Market.

Honoree from Loudon: Laura Clarkson Lefler, a broadcasting major and the daughter of Jack H. Lefler II of Loudon and Mary C. White, Hopkinsville, Ky.

Honoree from Rutledge: Jennifer Anne Williamson, an audiology and speech pathology major and the daughter of Ruth and William Gent, Rutledge.
