KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee is hosting a series of receptions in April honoring thousands of Tennessee high school seniors who plan to enroll at UT next fall.

UT Admissions director Marshall Rose said nine gatherings are scheduled across the state to congratulate high school students, provide college information and welcome them to UT.

“These receptions celebrate the students being accepted at the University of Tennessee,” Rose said. “They are taking a major step in life and we want to support them all we can.

“We look forward to meeting them, discussing their academic future and preparing them for the transition to college.”

Rose said the program will include welcoming remarks from UT administrators and talks from current students. UT students, faculty, staff and alumni will be on hand to answer questions.

The high school seniors also will be informed of UT information services that allow them to receive email about campus activities, events and policies, Rose said.

All receptions are set for 2-4 p.m.
