UT Offering Workshops on Human Capital

CHATTANOOGA — Human performance, an issue executives are calling one of the workplace’s biggest challenges, will be the topic of March 29 workshops here.

Participants will choose from one of three sessions, led by Bill Stetar of the University of Tennessee’s Center for Industrial Services. The workshops are set for 7:30 and 10 a.m. and noon at the Civic Forum Building, 1001 Market St.

The cost will be $20 for members of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chattanooga Manufacturers’ Association or $25 for non-members.

Those interested in attending can register by contacting Lisa Nave at (423) 756-2121, ext. 134.

Stetar, who is with the CIS Tennessee Manufacturing Extension Program, said people, or human capital, are a company’s most important asset. He said his presentation will focus on how to improve and measure performance and reduce downtime and costs in both public and private organizations.

The State of Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development is joining the chamber, the manufacturer’s association and UT in sponsoring the workshops.
