CHATTANOOGA — The first meeting of the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Liaison Committee has been scheduled here for July 7.

It will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon in 101 Founders Hall.

Dr. J. Wade Gilley, president of UT, said the purpose of the meeting is to determine how the committee will be structured and discuss the formation of a Committee on the Future of UTC.

Created in February by the UT Board of Trustees, liaison committees for UTC and UT-Martin provide the mechanism for each campus to better implement programs and policies that will benefit the regions they serve, Gilley said.

In addition to Gilley and UTC Chancellor Bill Stacy, UTC committee members are: Johnnie Amonette, vice chair of the UT board from Memphis; Frank Kinser and John Thornton, trustees from Chattanooga; Roger Dickson, Joe Decosimo and Warren Logan, community representatives; Verbie Prevost, UTC faculty representative; and Scott Black, student representative.
