UT MARTIN SETS MEMORIAL DAY COMMEMORATION

The first UT Martin Memorial Day Commemoration is set for 8:30 a.m., Monday, May 29, at the entrance to the Hall-Moody Administration
Building.

The event will include the singing of the national anthem by Rachel Baker of Martin; remarks by Bradford Mayor Bill Manning, Vietnam veteran and
former Tennessee commissioner of veterans affairs; and a flag ceremony led by the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps from Jackson
Central-Merry High School and Jackson Northside High School.

Others participating in the program are Mike Munkel, UT Martin manager of dining services who will be master of ceremonies; World War II veteran Joe
Walker of Martin who will give the invocation; and Ernest Harriss III of Martin who will play taps.

The event is open to the public. Parking is available in the Skyhawk Stadium parking lot directly across from the administration building. East
and westbound traffic will be stopped briefly at 8:30 a.m. as the flag ceremony begins. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the
university’s Glenn Gallien Auditorium located in Gooch Hall.
