KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Mark Paganelli has been named the new executive director of audit and management services at the University of Tennessee, it was announced Monday.

Emerson Fly, UT vice president for business and finance, said Paganelli will succeed the late Richard Boring, who passed away April 27.

“Mark has done an outstanding job since becoming a member of this department seven years ago,” Fly said. “We look forward to his excellent work continuing in the role of executive director of audit and management services for the UT system.”

Paganelli, a certified public accountant, previously served as audit manager for the department. He received the bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Alabama and the master’s of business administration in finance from UT-Chattanooga.

Prior to coming to UT-Knoxville, he worked for the Tennessee Division of State Audit and also served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

He lives in Maryville with his wife, Amy, and two children.

The UT department of audit and management services helps ensure proper procedures are followed regarding revenues, grants, personnel and all other areas relating to fiscal policy for the entire UT system.
