TULLAHOMA, Tenn. — William K. Kershner, aviator, flight instructor, author and cartoonist, will deliver the 24th Quick-Goethert Lecture here March 24.

The lecture, free and open to the public, is set for 4 p.m. in the University of Tennessee Space Institute auditorium.

Kershner, who now lives in Sewanee, was recently inducted into the Flight Instructors’ Hall of Fame. In his UTSI talk he will discuss his 50 years of flying and flight training and instruction.

“Bill Kershner will be enlightening and entertaining,” Dr. Dwayne McCay, UTSI vice president, said. “This will be a technical talk for folks who don’t understand technical language.”

A banquet will follow the lecture. Reservations can be made by calling (931) 393-7526.

The lecture series is named for Dr. B.H. Goethert, founding dean of UTSI, and Dr. A.W. Quick, who headed the Technical Institute in Aachen, Germany.
