Public hearings on proposed contracts that would transfer the operation of the University of Tennessee Memorial Research Center and Hospital from UT to a not-for-profit corporation have been postponed.

More time is needed to review the contracts making it necessary to postpone four hearings scheduled for early February, Emerson Fly, UT executive vice president and vice president for business and finance, said.

Two hearings were set for Feb. 8 in Knoxville, one Feb. 9 in LaFollette, and one Feb. 12 in Morristown.

Fly said the hearings will be rescheduled and notice of the times, dates and places will be announced and published at least two weeks in advance. Copies of the proposed contracts will be available approximately one week before the first hearing, he said.
