KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Charles G. Luton, an information and communications network advisor in Thailand, will be the guest Dec. 4 of the Language and World Business Program at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
A senior advisor for the German company Siemens, Luton will speak at 6 p.m. in the University Center Hermitage Room to this semester’s language-business graduates.
Winkie Ilic, event organizer, said the program, “Stake Your Claim in the New Frontier,” will encourage students to compare the challenges faced by the pioneers with the challenges they will face in international business.
Luton’s invitation to visit UT was extended through Jim Gibson, an alumnus of the language and business program who is employed by Northrup Grumman in Bangkok, Ilic said. Luton is working for Siemens on the design and installation of a communications system in southern Thailand.
A 1960 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Luton earned the master’s degree in Asian studies from the University of Hawaii.
