KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Brynae Laxton, Lady Vols basketball player from Oneida, was a top graduate in summer commencement exercises Friday at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Laxton, daughter of Bryan and Patricia Laxton, Oneida, majored in exercise science. She was top graduate in the College of Education.

Top graduates at UT-Knoxville have the highest grade point averages (GPA) in their colleges. A minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale is required.

Laxton’s other honors and awards include three national basketball championships, Southeastern Conference Honor Roll, Lady Vols Honor Roll, and the Helen B. Watson Award (1997 and 1998).

She plans to continue her education in medical school.
