Murfreesboro Student Earns Top Grad Honors at UT (110)

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Steve Sams, son of Norman and Sandra Sams of Murfreesboro, earned top graduate honors in summer commencement exercises Friday at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Sams, a public relations major, earned top grad honors in the College of Communications. His other honors and activities at UT included president of the Pep Club and two years as a senator in the Student Government Association.

Top graduates at UT-Knoxville have the highest grade point averages (GPA) in their colleges. The minimum GPA to be a top grad is a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Sams plans to continue his education this fall in a UT program offering dual MBA and law degrees.
