UT Dean’s Media Law Book In 9th Edition (120)

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Dr. Dwight L. Teeter Jr., dean of communications at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, is lead author of an updated textbook on mass media law.

The ninth edition of “Law of Mass Communications” is from Foundation Press of New York City.

The text’s major parts include the philosophical and constitutional foundations of free expression; privacy and newsgathering; and access to government information.

Co-authors are Don R. Le Duc, professor emeritus of mass communication at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Bill Loving, attorney and associate professor of journalism and mass communication, University of Oklahoma.

The founding author of the book, Dr. Harold L. Nelson, professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, died in 1996. Teeter and Le Duc were students of Nelson.
