“Tuesday Topics” Lecture On Melatonin (115)

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — “Melatonin: Medical Miracle or Hormone Hoax” will be the subject of the March 10 “Tuesday Topics” free lecture at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Dr. Rebecca Prosser, assistant professor of biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, will speak at 7:30 p.m., in 235 University Center.

 Melatonin, a natural hormone produced by a gland in the brain, has been touted as a cure for a wide range of health-related problems including cancer, aging, insomnia and jetlag.

 A reception for Prosser, hosted by Dr. Lorayne Lester, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, will follow the lecture.

Parking adjacent to the center, in the parking garage on Stadium Drive, is free with a stamped voucher. No reservations are required.
