KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Four McMinn County students are recent recipients of scholarships from the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association.
The recipients:
— Jason B. Abbott, P.O. Box 517, Etowah, earned a $1,500 upperclass scholarship at UT-Knoxville. He is the son of Larry and Katherine Abbott.
— Haley Chastain, 2577 County Road 561, Etowah, earned a $1,500 valedictorian scholarship at UT-Knoxville for her accomplishment at McMinn Central High School. She is the daughter of Sam and Jane Chastain.
— Karen Presswood, 1114 Jones St., Athens, earned a $1,500 valedictorian scholarship at UT-Knoxville for her accomplishment at McMinn County High School. She is the daughter of Harold and Yvette Presswood.
— Laura D. Tallent, 154 County Road 550, Athens, earned a $1,500 freshman scholarship at UT-Knoxville. She is the daughter of Michael and Sheila Tallent.
