MARTIN, Tenn.– An advisory committee that will identify candidates to succeed Dr. Margaret Perry as chancellor of the University of Tennessee-Martin is scheduled to meet here Sept. 24.

UT President Joe Johnson said Monday the 22-member group of faculty, students, alumni, UT board members and community leaders will advise him on Perry’s successor.

Perry announced in August her plans to retire on Jan. 31, 1998.

Homer Fisher, UT senior vice president, will chair the committee. Planning the search and a timetable will be on the Sept. 24 meeting agenda, Fisher said.
