MILAN, Tenn.– Dr. Blake A. Brown, a researcher for DuPont Agricultural Products since 1993, has been appointed superintendent of the University of Tennessee agricultural experiment stations here and in Martin.
The appointment, effective Nov. 1, was announced by Dr. Don O. Richardson, dean of the Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station at UT.
Brown, a native of West Tennessee, succeeds John F. Bradley at the Milan Experiment Station and the Martin Experiment Station. He will maintain offices at both stations and make his home here.
“Dr. Brown is no stranger to the Tennessee research program,” Richardson said. “He received his education at UT and performed his graduate research in the Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station system.”
The Milan station is recognized worldwide for its research program in no-till crop production, and the Martin station is known for its research in swine production and food grains.
Brown, who earned the doctoral degree from UT in plant and soil sciences, is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jim Brown of Jackson, Tenn. He is married to the former Lisa Hix of Jackson. They have two children, Freeman Andrew, 3, and Bailey Elizabeth, 6 months.
